The Peacock Sculpture
For
Britzer Garten in Berlin we constructed the Peacock in cooperation
with the gardeners, which added the flourishing feather tail.
In fact it stood for more than 5 years, then
moved into the labyrinth, as the earthen body didn't take the winterfrost
any longer.
2007 it was rebuilt, inside the labyrinth. |

Ghanaic Clayhut for Haus der Kulturen der
Welt
Already in 1994 I did this hut in a museal context.'The flying
suitcase' brought some Ghanaic lifestyle, tools and art into the
House of Cultures.
Mark Asamoah one artist friend I made at that time during the
exhibition is still doing music for us in the clayvillage ...
his band Africa MMa is a top life act any year at Britzer Garden.

Portal
'Bear, Eskimo, Lion, Walrus and Child'
A project in Sweden: This portal links two playground areas at the
"Bo01" - the first exhibition for ecological buildings in
Sweden.
It was constructed in a mix of concrete-stabilized blocks and clayplaster.
Michael Bergmann, the architect who won the competition for an ecological
playground brought us to Malmø in June 2001, to complete his
earthen wall with our sculptures. |

Rat
and Bear - Weil der Stadt
Already
built in 2000 with local children, this sculpture changed its surface
after 11.9.2001 - I transformed it into a monument of peace.
But not for too long times - as local authorities broke it down
over night in 2002...
Instead of the forerunner we built the succeeding sculpture on the
other side of the town wall in Weil der Stadt. The mighty friendly
bear... and he is still there.

'Natural Garden' in Wunsiedel
In cooperation with the 'St.Josephs educational centre for children
and yong adults' we have been building a playground and festival area
from 2000-2002.
We added a willow-branches stage, that can be used for any kinds of
performances. In summer the whole construction had turned all green
with fresh leaves. So we were successful with this living architecture.
Apart from our work with earth, we had two smaller projects on wood
and stone carving. A lot of skills and opportunities to take part
in... |

'Pallaverpavillon'
6 colorful relief sculptures surround a massive hut, made of stone,
wood and clay. They are symbolising the peacful unity of all colors
and races on earth.Of course we've added a little seemaid and an
angel...
Its a cool place in summer!
Later we did this 'standart' in some more places like Stuttgart,
Bielefeld...but the prototype is still at Britzer Garden.

Die
'Tartaruga' in Pochio dei Pinii / Sardegna
Going south. At Poggio dei Pinii in Sardegna we errected this turtle-seat
together with children from a local kindergarden.
Our dear friend Madda Achenza, a local architect organized the project
at the place, her kids played on , while she was in University and
dug their hands into the dirt...
But not only-
skillfull mosaics and a separate elefant sculpture have been achieved.

Clayhouse
on the schoolyard, near Stuttgart
The clayhouse is based on our framework technology
- something well known from the old times in that part of Germany.
With the help of some ready made stones donated by Claytec, we
were able to realize this hut in 10 days in the schoolyard.
The hut was bulit with children of "Schallenberg" primary
school in Deufringen. |

Ovensculpture
'Frog' in Järinge /Sweden
Gertrud Thames, a local artist and natural building pioneer in Sweden
offered me to do a workshop in 2007. A 'must follow' project!
Following plans and instructions of Kiko
Denzer from Oregon I built this 'frog' in a 4 days workshop together
with all the members, taking part. |

Spielpalast
und Schattenpavillon
Our big structures Spielpalast
and the Schattenpavillon
are at the top of our achieved earthen architectures. From the point
of design as from the technical approach, quite complex, but still
based on earth and simple beauty. Lot of hands and love in it!
Both objects are elements of the 'Makunaima' clay village in Britzer
Garden, Berlin. |
